Stephen Rappaport is an actor, director, singer songwriter, solo theater performer, playwright and teacher. He received his initial theater training in 1972, at the Institute for Scenkonst, Sweden, under the direction of Ingemar Lindh, a colleague of Jerzy Grotowski. He has also studied extensively with Rob Reece (Method), Ernesto Sanchez (Mime Master) , and Larry Moss (Stella Adler).
His monodramas, JONES, THE BIRD, THE CHOCOLATE QUARRY, CHIGGERS, THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART, THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING and THE STEPHEN RAPPAPORT BAND, have toured internationally with critical acclaim.
As film and television actor, he has had starring and guest starring roles in MODUS, BECK (I Stormens Öga), THE HUNDRED CODE, STAR TREK VOYAGER, ARNE DAHL, WELCOME TO SWEDEN, BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS, ROSENBURG, GUSTAFSSON 3TR, ER (CITY AKUTEN), NYPD BLUE, BROOKLYN SOUTH,THE COMMISION, ELSA’S VÄRLD, HANDS THAT SEE ,...AND GOD SPOKE, among others.
